I am currently sitting in the Denver, Colorado airport waiting for my connection flight to Oakland, CA to board. Visiting my family in Wisconsin for a few days was so rejuvenating and refreshing. It was a bit chilly to my California-adapted body, so I wore a vintage, red aztec-printed sweater and leggings home. Now that I will be returning to the sunny weather and reality in a few hours, I am going to need to take off a few layers.

Traveling wears me out so I need to throw on something quick and easy. Bodysuits and high waisted denim have been my go to these days. This combo saved me from “thinking” about my outfit in the morning when midterms were going on.

A trend for body suits these days is lingerie inspired. This opens up a lot of freedom as far as design. If you don’t want to show a lot of skin, there are high-neck, lace halter designs. I like a more low cut and edgy version so this vintage Kiki De Montparnasse number was perfect. I came across this piece at Mercy Vintage in Oakland, CA. I just pulled it from the shop to shoot it for the blog, but regretted not buying it. Thank goodness I went back a few weeks later, and it was still there. It was actually marked down!

That is one rule what shopping vintage: If you see a piece and are on the edge about buying it, know that you have a small chance of finding the same piece again. I have made the mistake of passing up beautiful pieces way too many times!

I paired this bodysuit with a pair of skinny Guess jeans and this pair of Forever 21 boots. This is one way to throw on an easy outfit together after getting off multiple plans. (And it still looked like you “tried” in the morning!)
