Collagen is the New Fashion Technology

Remember when light up shoes were the biggest innovation in commercial fashion? It was during an age where children’s toys were shifting to CD-ROMs, Game Boys were shrinking in size, and paper 3-D glasses with blue and red lenses provided an enhanced reality.

Since those tiny light bulbs activated by steps, technology in fashion has been one of the biggest phenomenons in the industry’s history. Many creative interpretations have been literal. Jackets are laced with charging cables, dresses have LED lights shimmering through organza and fiber-optics, and cross body purses have shrunk down to hold only a smartphone.

9 Things Midwesterners should know before moving to the Coasts

“Midwest kindness” is definitely an active term on the East and West Coast. I moved to the West Coast three years ago, and I quickly learned that these people live a bit differently. Everyone has somewhere to go, and no one will stop them from getting there. It sounds a bit intimidating, but once you get into the swing of things, it turns into adrenaline.

Breezy Days

Wind is either a nuisance or a welcomed addition while you are on set. During my blog photoshoots, there is only me and the photographer. We do not have help setting up the shot, and it is all organic. The wind was a bit strong, but it captured the raw beauty of this place.

Ancient silhouette

There is so much confusion as to what the word “tunic” actually describes. It started in the Roman Empire in the 3rd century BC. A Roman tunic was used as an under garment for a toga or just a long shirt for the lower classes. The word evolved with history, and it ended up describing a shirt, layering piece, and a dress. Different class identifications were associated with it as civilizations came and went.
